Lucky Them. Lucky Me.

I’m currently working on the feature “Lucky Them,” shooting in and around Seattle. It’s a particularly cool project as as it was the last film Paul Newman was developing before he passed away in 2008. Originally written with New York City in mind, the script was revised to take place in Seattle once Megan Griffiths was brought on board to direct. Deadline Hollywood has a nice write-up about the show posted here.

The story is a great fit for Seattle as it takes place within the local music scene. That has meant scouting lots of bars and clubs. Not a bad gig if you can get it! I’ve had an opportunity to get to know the owners and managers of several of Seattle’s iconic music venues. Many have been involved in the local scene since Seattle’s musical heyday in the early 90′s. Places like the OK Hotel and RKCNDY may not be around anymore, but the folks who ran those places still are. Lucky for me, most have been thrilled to have their places featured in the film. Which should help “Lucky Them” look great on screen.
